Our perception of the world is through our mind,
it is through our understanding of our circumstances.

Continuing to learn and grow by understanding our circumstances and our selves in the physical world is crucial to our healing process. There are many ways in which we can exercise and heal the mind.

Learning more about our physiological selves, whether how PTSD works, or how our relationships can develop, is another way we can move forward. It is important to keep an open mind when learning or reading about new things, because often times it may challenge our previous perceptions.

Another way to excercise and clear the mind is journaling. Through a practice of writing regularly, daily if possible, we learn how much we already know. It is important to let yourself write what comes out of you, because either way, it is there. By journaling we bring it outside of ourselves. Understanding ourselves, our emotions, is one part. Some say that the emotions are not part of the mind: how can they be separate? For our emotional responses often override what we know is best in a given situation.
