The Veterans' Powwow in Fon du Lac, Minnesota (near Sawyer) is in its 12th year in 2005. People of all ages and many tribes gather to honor Veterans through the songs and dances of a traditional Powwow.

Each individual is also honored, with gifts of wild rice and a Powwow t-shirt from the Fon du Lac band of Ojibwe.

It is heartwarming to experience three days of celebration and honor; the sense of solidarity and gratitude was huge.
